About Us

Mark and I have been friends since we were about 13 - 14 yeras old, attending private Newcastle based school Dame Allans. Those that weren't particualrly brown nosing academics seemed to drift together like galactic debris, that was Mark and I. It wasn't until after school we came into our own. Mark, always a budding designer and endlessly entusastic about starting his own business, left at 16 to persue a number of creative outlets, now  successfully designing and making his own furniture.
Me, I stayed on to do my A levels, torn between career choices, my results soon made that decision for me and off I went to Art College. I studied Graphic design for 3 years and went on to work in the field for a further 3 before loosing the will to live. As much as I enjoy designing, there was a passion far greater in my life, one which I could no longer ignore. I left my last design postion, a Gateshead based publishing house, in late 2006. I enrolled immediately on an Animal Management course, not really having much idea what I wanted to do other than work with animals, taking a massive decrease in income in the process, but a massive boost in self worth. Less than halfway through the course I got an offer for a Veterinary Nursing position as anight nurse and jumped at the chance. I haven't looked back and now work three nights a week giving me plenty of time for the dogs.

Mark and I have recently moved from Newcastle to just insde County Durham. We have to commute 15-20 minutes to work, but find it worth while. We have a small 3 bed terrace with gardens, a stones throw from open fields and wood land, perfect for the dogs and safe for the cats.

We are expecting our own little bundle at the end of November, watch this space for the next junior handler!
